Build these simple wood storage bins and have all your important reference materials at your fingertips instead of lost in a towering pile.
This wooden magazine rack is stylish and functional, and provides and attractive place to store your monthly magazines and other publications until you find time to read them.
I have been wanting to build an in-the-wall magazine/book rack for our main-floor powder room for several years. The idea has stuck with me. Most powder rooms are so tiny that every bit of space counts.
Any home can use a magazine rack, and the Shaker-inspired simplicity of this design will comfortably fit into any home decor.
The cabinet is approximately 24 inches wide, 12 inches deep, 30 inches tall and has a single shelf centered inside. The main carcase is built from solid oak dovetailed together on the top and bottom, with the back assembly and the two doors built with with frame and panel joinery.
These two projects can easily be completed in a weekend! Mine were both made from oak, to match our bathroom vanity. The only challenge here is scooping out the tissue holder so it can be recessed into the wall. The magazine rack has it is own challenge, making the mortises for the slats. Plans are available for both projects.
